2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Analytics: We collect information about how you interact with the App, including features used, quizzes taken, session duration, and navigation patterns.
- Device Information: We collect device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, language settings, and time zone.
- Log Data: Our servers automatically record information including your IP address, access times, and app crash reports.
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect precise geolocation data.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
- We do not collect financial or payment information directly (all payments, if applicable, are processed through Apple's App Store).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and Maintain the Service: To create and manage your account, deliver quiz experiences, generate results, and enable friend connections.
- Improve the Service: To understand how users interact with the App, identify areas for improvement, and develop new features.
- Personalization: To tailor quiz recommendations and content based on your usage history and preferences.
- Communications: To send you service-related notifications, respond to your inquiries, and provide customer support.
- Safety and Security: To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: We use Supabase as our backend infrastructure provider to store and process your data. Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually obligated to protect your information.
- Friend Connections: When you pair with a friend, your display name and shared quiz results are visible to your paired partner. You control who you pair with.
- Analytics Providers: We may share anonymized, aggregated usage data with analytics services to help us understand App usage patterns. This data cannot be used to identify you personally.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect our rights or safety, or investigate potential violations.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred. We will provide notice before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Notice Regarding Sale of Personal Information: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we confirm that we have not sold personal information of consumers in the preceding 12 months.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. Specifically:
- Account Data: Retained for the duration of your account. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- Quiz Responses and Results: Retained for the duration of your account. Deleted upon account deletion.
- Usage Analytics: Aggregated and anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely, as it cannot be linked back to individual users.
- Log Data: Retained for up to 90 days for security and troubleshooting purposes, then automatically deleted.
You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at support@peelquiz.com or using the account deletion feature within the App.
6. Your Privacy Rights
6.1 Rights for All Users
Regardless of where you are located, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent to process your data.
6.2 European Economic Area (EEA) Residents -- GDPR Rights
If you are located in the EEA, you have the following additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Right of Access: You have the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data and to request a copy of that data.

- Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you services, charge different prices, provide a different quality of service, or suggest any of these actions as a result of exercising your rights.
To exercise your rights, you or your authorized agent may submit a verifiable consumer request by emailing us at support@peelquiz.com. We will respond to verifiable requests within 45 days of receipt, as required by the CCPA.
6.4 CalOPPA Compliance
In compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), we agree to the following:
- Users can visit the App without being required to disclose any personal information beyond what is needed for account creation.
- This Privacy Policy is accessible from our App and website.
- Our Privacy Policy link includes the word "Privacy" and can be easily found on the pages specified above.
- Users will be notified of any material changes to our Privacy Policy through an in-app notification or email.
- Users can change their personal information by logging into their account or by contacting us at support@peelquiz.com.
Do Not Track Signals: We honor Do Not Track signals transmitted by web browsers. When a Do Not Track signal is detected, we will not collect tracking information about your browsing activity.
7. Data Security
We take the security of your personal information seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect it. These measures include:
- Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols.
- Encryption of data at rest within our database infrastructure.

8. Children's Privacy

If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to remove that information from our servers within a reasonable timeframe.
For users between the ages of 13 and 16 in the EEA, we require parental or guardian consent before processing personal data, in accordance with GDPR requirements.
9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence. Our backend services are hosted by Supabase, which may use cloud infrastructure located in the United States and other jurisdictions.
If you are located in the EEA, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we ensure that any transfer of your personal data to a country outside of these regions is subject to appropriate safeguards, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
- Transfers to countries recognized by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of data protection.
- Other legally recognized transfer mechanisms as applicable.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred internationally. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
